Youth Voice & the DS Settlement
In this session participants will learn about the historic D.S. Settlement concerning exceptional placements for children and youth with complex medical and behavioral needs and the powerful changes that are being implemented as a result. Critical to these efforts has been the involvement of young people with lived experience in the child welfare system. Participants of this session will learn how legal advocacy can work to uplift and center youth voice, providing young people the space and access to power they need to meaningfully shape and inform the systems that impact them.
