Why Every MDT Needs an MVP

The one question often asked by multidisciplinary team (MDT) facilitators and leaders is “How do I get better engagement from our team members?” This training will explore how having a mission, vision and purpose (MVP) for the MDT aside from the children’s advocacy center’s mission, vision and purpose can be essential in these efforts. We will first talk about the difference between mission, vision and purpose to ensure there is clarity about how each of these are important, but different as they relate to teams or any organization. The focus of this training however will be on purpose. Purpose helps us define our “why” as a team and even as individuals. Purpose is what drives the work that we do together for children and families. However, being able to define our team purpose is not always easy. This workshop will give participants examples of how to create a purpose statement with your team. It will also introduce an assessment tool to be used with your team to measure alignment.
