Growing the Green Together
The Office of Innovation, Alignment and Accountability (OIAA) developed an internal dashboard to analyze CPS re-referral and placement trends following the establishment of DCYF, enabling comparisons across regions, offices, and child characteristics such as race/ethnicity and age. The dashboard highlights the proportion of children who do not re-engage with the child welfare system within 180 days (“green”), compared to those who re-enter through re-referral or are placed in out-of-home care, with an explicit focus on “Growing the Green” over time. OIAA is currently developing an external-facing version of the tool and has begun partnering with Foster America to support selected communities in organizing, implementing and evaluating “Grow the Green” efforts. This presentation will include a demonstration of the Safe Reduction Dashboard and an overview of implementation efforts underway in participating locations.
