Beyond the Call: DCYF Response to Mandatory Reports
Mandatory Reporters are an important and broad group of professionals in WA. DCYF launched an updated eLearning, poster, and website for Mandatory Reporters in December 2024. The new training emphasizes supporting families and reflecting on personal bias in addition to the role and responsibility of a Mandatory Reporter. Since 2022 DCYF has been collaborating with partners across sectors inform the changes and shape this new eLearning and other materials for Mandatory Reporters. The final phase of this project is the creation of reflective bias tools to aid Mandatory Reporters in their decision-making. This training will also provide a high-level overview of DCYF front end programs and follow a case from intake through case assignment, case transfer or case closure.
