Youth LINC and Example of Cross Systems and Community Collaboration to Support Youth and Families
This workshop will provide an overview of LINC-Leadership, Intervention, and Change, a community and systems collaboration model that is based on the data-driven and evidence-based OJJDP Comprehensive Gang model. This workshop will discuss the process and structure in which government systems and CBOs can collaborate to serve community and community members more functionally. With programming based on a foundation of effective partnerships and collaboration, LINC creates an opportunity for service providers to have a larger community impact than individualized efforts produce. The resulting systems-community partnership is built on Results-Based Accountability to remove structural hurdles, barriers, and policies that stand in the way of serving young people and the community. This model builds out clear guidelines and practices for CBOs and government systems such as Law-Enforcement, Employment, Housing, Juvenile Detention, and City or County Courts to work together. The flexibility of the LINC data-driven model allows for room to incorporate other best practices, promising practices, and even community-based solutions that can all be tracked and assessed for maximum community impact.
