Missing and Murdered Indigenous People’s Crisis

Missing and Murdered Indigenous People Crisis has seen legislation passed in Washington State over the last several years to address. In 2019, two positions within Washington State Patrol were created. These positions were identified as Tribal Liaisons. Legislation required that 1 position be located in the westside and 1 location be located in the eastside of the state. During the session, we will go over Washington State specific data that the two liaison have been able to access and study over the last couple of years and what has been revealed. We will also discuss what Washington State is doing to address this crisis and the impacts on families, victims, and law enforcement, and tribal governments.
