Children in the Courtroom Training Series Part 2: The Child Centered Courtroom
The second presentation in a comprehensive series of trainings concerning the participation of children and youth in their dependency cases, this session covers children and youth in the courtroom. Children’s participation in courtroom proceedings is a nationally recognized best practice in child welfare law. Attendees will learn of resources available to help guide and train themselves and others regarding how to address children and youth in the courtroom. The goal of the presentation is for attendees to walk away with the resources, knowledge, and skills needed to make the courtroom a welcoming and less traumatizing place for children and youth.
