Strenthening Skills for Child Welfare Caseworkers and Supervisors: Working with Families
Building capacity in the child welfare workforce remains a crucial part of improving outcomes for children, youth, and families. Both child welfare workers and supervisors play essential roles in identifying risk and safety factors, and in building parental capacities and protective factors for families affected by parental substance use disorders (SUD). This session emphasizes practical strategies for applying these tools to strengthen casework, supervision, and team collaboration related to children, parents, and other family members affected by parental SUD. This session highlights the National Center on Substance Abuse and Child Welfare’s (NCSACW) Safety and Risk Video Series.
