Stronger Together: How a Coordinated MDT Secured Safety and Accountability for a Child
This presentation highlights a compelling case study in which coordinated multidisciplinary teamwork led to the successful criminal prosecution of a sexual predator and the best possible outcome for the child survivor. Through the combined efforts of Law Enforcement, Child Protective Services, the Child Advocacy Center, Prosecutors, Medical Providers and Victim Advocates, the team ensured a trauma-informed, evidence-based response from initial disclosure through final conviction. Attendees will gain insight into the communication strategies, investigative practices, and collaborative decision-making that strengthened the case, minimized system-induced trauma, and upheld the child’s safety and well-being. This session will also cover the challenges and lessons learned associated with this case. The presenters will demonstrate how a unified MDT approach not only improves case outcomes but also elevates the standard of care for child victims and their families.
